While I agree aesthics are subjective, there’s certain trends and designs which do seem to have a near universal appeal though.
Not sure if any phones are on that level but there’s generally stuff that a huge line of people seem to love.
For me the group is is probably.
HTC one, Lumia 800, Iphone4, Adzero bamboo

Not entirely sure what the importance of google maps is in this case. The important service he used is the website that reunites children with their families. Google maps was just well a map once he knew the place.

I pay about 15 euro for something like
uhuh
200 minutes
120 sms
150MB fullspeed internet, which gets downgraded but is unlimited once I cross that. Considering the downgraded speed is still enough to run youtube.. .:P

To be honest – not that many people use it on phones though. They use it on computers massively though.
But on phones? Generally the only people on it in my peer group (just my experience so globaly probably different) are people on WP. Everyone is on whatsapp though.

Not a single person I know quit skype because of this. Of course that’s just another experience against yours.
Of course while I am certain some people did quit skype because of that, I doubt it’s any significant number.

to be completely honest – skype has one of the best Voip aproaches, the way they do group chats is amazing and while the clients are generally lackluster and the protocol still doesn’t support push it is one of the best IM programs not on phones.
On Phones it will be one of the best once they get full push.

it’s actually fairly easy to switch numbers – keep in mind that whatsapp works over your contact list and the contact list of your friends
If they change your contact information after you changed your number it gets directed at your new number.
In that sense it’s incredibly similar to SMSs which also one of the reasons why it’s so popular. now if there was a tighter integration of it, like iMessage or the way Facebook messages work in WP, it would be massively better.

actually according to sources, the reason why the experience in IE is worse, is once again due to a worse API MS has access to.

The thing is, MS doesn’t have access to the API which does include ads. They aren’t blocking anything, they don’t even have direct access to the ads, since they probably only have access to the old old version of the API, probably the same one they are using for the original application that is on windowsphone (which just plays the videos)

Which is a fallacy considering consumer protection is considered cogent and not dispositive :P and that even in international civil right.

Oh it’s entirely possible that this is a play by MS to get google to actually give them the relevant APIs.

Different thing. You are allowed to essentially create a file parser which is more or less what’s the point here. MS is not required to release said parsing code though.
And google is in analogy blocking the creation of something that leverages the services without offering a willing and cooperative party something to do.
There’s also a thing to consider in that youtube would generally be considered a service, while office a product.
I actually wouldn’t be surprised if this did come all the way to the court, since it could essentially be an attempt by MS to create court set mantinels and relatively get google to do something they might not be willing to do otherwise.

Wasn’t the Dell WP7 phone relatively similar?
Comment
yeah, we’ll probably go back to calling it a phone. Or a communicator or something. If we’ll still have similar devices then.
The thing is, some terms change with time, others get replaced and others grow.
Carriage is a good. The original carriage was known as a horse carriage. When motors showed up, people started calling motor vehicles motor carriages, or horseless carriages (only the former really stuck)
And once they dominated, people just back to calling all former motor carriages, just carriages. Though by then different vocabulary was getting established.

There’s the theory that they essentially force you to go monsanto seeds this way. Aka either buy from us, or we’ll sue you since you have our stuff.

Yeah monsanto actually lost a similar case, so their seeds now must be fertile. But that doesn’t mean they can’t dissallow replanting.
Also I figure some of the damages are caused by the fact that the guy willfully and intentionally did what he did.
He purposefully destroyed all non-monsanto plants and was probably fully aware of what he was doing and hoped to bypass the monsanto license like that.
