My only question: When will they offer this stuff on a larger laptop with a screen in the 15.6-16.5 inch range? I really am not a fan of the “Ultrabook” form factor.

I still believe it’s highly dependent on the type of app you’re talking about.
I spend most of my time in the desktop with Firefox, Visual Studio, and several Explorer windows open.
However…I use metro apps for watching Netflix, viewing weather, stocks, reading news, etc.

Depends on the program you’re referring to. The news/finance/weather apps don’t have decent “desktop” alternatives, and they all show more information in the same screen space as their equivalent websites do.

Most metro apps won’t, some of them might though. Many of the default apps that come with Windows 8 improve on larger screens.

In the case of Banking, I just wish my bank would make its moble website a bit better…or its desktop website for that matter.

It’s people’s attitudes, and I’m not just talking about conversations on The Verge. Even in the worst flamewars, The Verge has the better comments.
You have to settle down to reality here. If you want to complain about apps, support apps being made.
And yes, by the way, I truly believe that Google should put some effort into supporting ALL of their customers. It’s not like Google is a small company with only a few resources, here.

No, it wouldn’t. I use professional software from Native Instruments. Their products can be authenticated on 2 computers at a time. All you have to do is uninstall from one and deactivate it to install on a new one.
It’s as simple as that.

I think the articles have been fairly positive. The comments have had some issues…but, meh, comments on the internet. It’s to be expected.
