What’s wrong with Instapaper? People seem to look down on it here a lot, works just fine for me. Also, if I were to want to switch to Pocket, could I take my Instapaper saves with me? And are there any Windows apps for Pocket?

Yeah, I think Touch Covers are fine for casual stuff, but if they’re specifically getting these for students to do research and type up essays, I think they’re a lot better off having the tactile Type keyboard.

It’s faster for actual typing, feels familiar (it’s fine to get used to a Touch Cover on your own when you have time, but students should be able to just pick the Surfaces up and start using them effectively), and it’s a little more sturdy too, I think.

As for your edit question, I don’t think that’s very relevant here since students will be using them in a school setting, on desks.

Mobile Phone: Lumia 928

Laptop/ Tablet: Surface Pro 128GB w/ Type Cover

Desktop: i7-2600 @ 3.40Ghz, 16GB RAM, Windows 8, 27" non-touch 1080p Samsung display

Console: Nothing, hoping for an Apple TV-like Xbox Mini in the future. Then again, don’t have a TV so probably wouldn’t get that anyway

E-Reader: Nothing, though it’s becoming harder and harder to resist the Kindle Paperwhite; any news on a next gen for that any time soon by the way?

MP3 (or equivalent): Nothing, use mix of iTunes-bought stuff, Xbox Music and Grooveshark on my phone w/ Beats in-ears (disappointing)

What are you listening to right now? Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Daft Punk); Beethoven’s fifth before that, Pink Floyd next in Grooveshark queue

DSLR Canon 60D w/ 18-70mm + 70-300mm lenses and one of those cool Gorilla tripod things (so useful)
