As important as fluidity is, there are more aspects thatdefinehow useable a device is, and Windows 8 does not perform well in terms of notifications or visual heirarchy of information. It was designed to be pretty and contemporary before making usability considerations.
A nexus 4 is prriced as mid range and out performs everything at the same price point.

I think it’s an update they’re pushing out because it’s a core app rather than something installed from the market. I’m in the same boat.

They normally push a little extra for the Android version.
Is that going to be just offline maps still, or something else a little extra?

My GNex was suffering, but this seems to have fixed the issue. There’s been little to no reduction in functionality.
Hope a decent phone comes out before I have to limit it to 3 processes.

I’m rocking a GNex, and I have no idea what to replace it with. I’m not impressed by the N4 due to Glass back and awkward width.
There isn’t anything out at the moment that is really tempting me except the iPhone, but I’m wanting to try and stick to Android.
Google / Motorola have 2 months to show me a device that I really want before I jump ship. My GNex is dying and wont last much longer.

I ave a controversial one that’s more current Android hardware and not the phones
WHY NO REPLACEMENT FOR USB?
It’s such a flimsy connector, and the micro (mini…whatever) USB ports seem to frequently fail.
Apple were lambasted for the lightning connector, and the fact that it’s proprietary is horrendous, but in terms of how solid it feels, it’s really nice.
Android needs to adopt a new standard.
I’m also not going to mention the poor ecosystem of peripherals, and lack of support from indie dev studios.

WHY DOES THE MENU BUTTON STILL EXIST!
I’d happily sacrifice all apps that don’t support the latest navigation button layout. Would clear away a lot of the old crap too.
WHY DOES THE BACK BUTTON STILL NOT WORK CONSISTENTLY?

I think the only reason we complain is that we have no choice. That is what causes frustration.
Your car analogy isn’t great either, as some would prefer a better handling, faster, and more practical car than a ridiculously oversized 4×4, that doesn’t perform the everyday job of getting to where I want to be efficiently and quickly.

Google should just make the notification pane more feature rich, so you can do similar functionality in there. Wouldn’t be so intrusive but as functional.
