Android and iOS make up 80% of smartphone marketshare!
And Windows Phone 7 makes up the other 20%
…no, just 2%.
How sad.

And Blackberry… no excuse for falling from a position where you had over 40% down to 6, and what a rapid decline – even faster than through 2011. It’s really not rocket science, RIM… there’s this thing called the “smartphone paradigm”., which is simply “what people are buying”. People vote with their wallets. What people are buying is what people are expecting in today’s smartphones. Tha’ts what you need to make. Something that competes. Not something to appeal to the – well, 6% – who still are die-hard keyboard folk (as I once was) who haven’t discovered the enhancements and preferences you can have with downloadable software keyboards… they make people who type even faster, and better. Embrace it. Make products that are relevant in 2012, not 2008.

Facebook is the reason. Everyone you know is on Facebook. You could check Facebook hourly and find updates from people you actually know. If your friends are all going to a seedy bar, you’ll go as well – it’s the people, not the place, that make somewhere worth going to.

Google+ could be the greatest environment ever, and if your friends aren’t on it – why would you be?
That’s what all your friends are asking themselves as well.

Out of 350+ Facebook friends (most of whom I know in real life, and have a personal interest in those people), roughly 6 are on Google+, and of those 6, just one of them posts regularly. And I’m positive that the reason is the above. Why would you post in a place your friends aren’t, when you could post in a place your friends are?
