Facebook is Windows from 15 years ago. It doesn’t matter how bad it is or how good something else may be. This is never going to happen. Facebook will eventually die but it will be replaced with something completely different, not Google +.

I don’t use any of that stuff on my GTV. I find it useless. The only reason it is still hooked up is because I use Plex. While the app is god awful on GTV it is still nice to have everything on the same TV input. I use a Roku upstairs and while the app functions better the Roku interface is not as good. If Apple every gets it’s shit together and allows third party apps both those boxes go bye bye. The ATV is significantly better than both with that huge exception. It’s been one of the few times I am frustrated with Apples choice to lock shit down.

It’s the main problem people have when evaluating creative output. The uninspired think that good is a byproduct of manually difficult or tedious. It couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s not surprising to see this mindset on a tech forum.

There is ZERO incentive to make iMessage cross platform. Where is the financial benefit? Because of that, words like dominate are simply Nerd fodder. It means nothing to dominate this space.

Do people realize the killer app in the Office suite is Outlook. The other stuff comes along for the ride. Regardless of how terrible it is Outlook is why people use office. The rest of the stuff is just there for minimal use or the specialist that needs things like Excel. Companies would not purchase Office if it were not for Outlook.
