Yeah. That’s the dilemma. It’s a better phone but I don’t think it is 300 dollars better.

While that’s true the total GFLOPS/pixels when comparing the two devices has to be fairly similar.

I am wary to trust an article on statistics from a writer who believes that 2/100 of a percent is equivalent to .0002%. 2/100 of a percent is. 02%.

Also despite having to pay a fee for the international transaction (they’re Canada based) the prices look to be better as well. According to a recent Facebook post their GS4 skins are due out this week.

When it comes to skins I usually go with DBrand. They are a small company but I’ve been very happy with my skin. They’re very precise in their cuts and very receptive to custom requests.

I just got a replacement one recently and it had a fairly visible rectangular digitizer pattern as well. However, after having it for a few days now the digitizer is far less visible and I really have to try to see it. It may just need a few days. Don’t give up hope on this great phone! Hopefully you get a good one next time.

A custom ROM isn’t necessary. With root you can tether freely using some apps from the Play Store. For example Barnacle WiFi tether

For an integrated solution I don’t know… Just a few years ago we used to scoff at Intel’s graphics performance but the GT3e solution in Haswell is targeting GT 650m performance in an integrated card, which for at least laptops leaves AMD/NVIDIA primarily with the enthusiast market, cut off from even the more mainstream gamer. On desktop your point definitely holds true though.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see some screen resolution bump on the Air at all… But the bigger effect will be felt at the 13 inch Retina MacBook Pro where the GPU, which is integrated due to size and TDP constraints, will actually be enough to push the pixels for a semi professional workload.

I think he’s referring to the people who say they should buy a device like a GS4 or a One and put a ROM on that. Nexus devices will not have problems with stability because the ROMs are based off that repository and the only bugs stem from issues in the Frameworks repository. On the other hand with a GS4 and similar devices you see issues from the device repository and also sometimes the compiler as well.

That’s exactly the way I feel about it. The cards UI feels contrived, almost like a iOS to Android it felt like a port rather than a new UI.

The pane is that rich. Most major custom ROMs and even some Play Store Apps (I think Sliding Messenger is one) implement a quick reply option in the notification for incoming SMS that enables a pop up that you can send a reply with. Think of it as designed like one of the GMail options except instead of popping you back to the app to reply the notification shade closes and you have a short dialogue to enable you to reply.

I have tried both and prefer Snapseed but it doesn’t hurt to try. They’re both very functional
