The reality about nuclear power is that it isn’t nearly as dangerous as every other form of base-load generation.
Beijing residents can tell you about the lethality of fossil fuel pollution, and if the predictions about Co2 are correct, then our descendants will be able to tell you what happens when the sea level rises 7 metres as a result of our insistence on liberating all the fossil reserves we can get our hands on.
Finally, if you really don’t understand the risks of radiation, this brilliant diagram can help:

It’s the years of smugness about how they’re better, whilst all the time dropping further behind, the innovation playing second fiddle to stupid courtroom dramas as if that ever was the way to build the future.
Now finally we see that Apple are dipping heavily into the ideas and form-factor decisions of the competition. I hope this signals an end to protecting rounded corners and other bollocks.

Never mind extraterrestrial intelligence. What we’re lacking is a bit more terrestrial intelligence. Despite our supposedly massive intellects, the human race is behaving just like every other animal on the planet (i.e. growing in numbers till nature eventually has the final say).
I read the other day that we’re supposed to eat insects rather than meat to allow the planet to support even more people… roll forward 100 years, and then we’ll be looking for the next miracle to sort out the ‘food’ problem (i.e. the population problem).

The important thing is that the existence of two global manufacturers keeps each pushing the boundaries. It would be a shame if either went out of business, as it’d make the aeroplanes we fly on in 30 years less good!
