I guess I can’t bring myself to be outraged, but I’ve been conditioned to use the Google Voice extension for forever (it does suck that there doesn’t seem to be a decent replication for Firefox). But even /then/ you can still initiate the call from voice.google.com’s web interface.
If anything, it seems to me that the infrastructure is there and they need to polish it and put a better UI on the calling/contact management and it’s good to go.
I’m still massively disappointed about XMPP federation, but I’m still interested to see where this goes.
