no that is incorrect, unless you are talking about the bits and pieces of userland. The entire app layer is run in a VM.

In order to run native code the render is still run in Dalvik while the game code is spooled off to what is effectively a userland library.

I love iTunes + TuneUp, I use it in conjunction with the Plex Server for a free personal Spotify on my phone.
It meakes cataloging torrents a snap.

Couple of things.
No used game market
And whats going to happen when the servers are shut off years from now from phoning home like the original Xbox Live.

Also personally I feel that in a year from now building a Steambox will be more cost effective for the same performance.

The cool thing with modern GPU is that the detail level in games scales pretty linearly in that its pretty easy to ramp up extra tessellation and increase/decrease shader complexity.

It should be a pretty noticeable difference.

Get a windows pc and make it a steambox and have it boot up in to big picture mode imo.

Not only are there more games but last I checked the OpenGL drivers that Apple ships are terribly inefficient.

Thats what I plan on doing this gen.

I posted this below:

Vista had a plethora off driver issues when it launched initially. The operating system per se wasn’t bad. It was that graphic driver companies had to rebuild their entire driver stack because of how Microsoft redesigned the subsystem.

Obviously a couple of years later when Windows 7 those issues had finally been ironed out but it was too late, Vista’s name was already tarnished.

Apple’s attack adds on Vista where greatly warranted but only as a side effect of having an operating system that is a completely open hardware platform.

Vista DID have major issues because Microsoft was unable to fully control its hardware partners during the time frame that the Mac commercials aired.
Not to mention that most people where still on XP and XP DID have Administrator unlocked by default so it was much more susceptible to viruses.

Kia copies designs or Hyundai copies designs and pull up tons of articles on the subject.
