No. You are assuming quite a lot. I’m an Android user that says “app store” because I came from iOS and the name stuck.
Nowhere in the article was the App Store mentioned by the way so context is out the window from the get go if you want to play that angle. It’s a discussion about security methods by this point.
And Razormike’s comment was information that contributed to the argument of OP. It stated that it was possible and it was in use. Something I didn’t know was a feature until I read it. I saw no trolling. It was simply a statement of fact.

Nah. You were the first to say iOS. And I don’t think what Drakal said was ironic at all.
And before you say something along the lines of “bla bla bla ‘App Store,’” The original was “appstore” which is a pretty universal way of talking about a unified location for downloading apps for smart phones and devices.
Comparing iOS and it’s options to its competitors seems perfectly in line for the comment section here.

Not really. If there was problem with this then nearly every cell phone service commercial would be copyright infringement. Everyone is so litigious that we forget how much we can actually use. I’m speaking of course about the US for which the commercial was made.
My understanding is that Apple owns the iPhone name and Samsung the Galaxy name in regard to product names in their category but they don’t own public knowledge and use of the name of the product. It’s all very confusing and stupid.

Is that why every copyright infringement on YouTube or any other social site leads to legal action? <\s> Disney is pretty big yet I can still watch Lion King on YouTube.
Again it goes back to not whether you can gather the information but if you’re able to use it.

No, I saw the defense of free speech. Lot’s of people defend free speech. Hell, I defend free speech. You can’t just protect some free speech, then it’s not free.
And yeah, I get it. Disgusting. But I realize that the problem is in the definition of free speech, not the existence of it.

Yeah, I know. But can you really show up in a civil court and say, “yeah, so I traced her IP and her proxy and it led me straight to the gal.” What judge is going to be cool with that? Also there is the small problem that you have to prove that she was using the computer at the time which would require repossession of the PC and a whole bunch of other bullshit. The cost would be insane even if you could pull off all that stuff you would still need a judge to pass it and then the reward would probably not be worth it.
No internet privacy debate, with anyone that knows their stuff, is about the ability to collect information. It’s about the right to use it.

It’s true someone posted those but it’s not true that “they” defended his posting of those pictures. Reddit and its moderators defended their users’ right to privacy whether you agree with that or not. I think there was a small misunderstanding from a sentence that could have been written more clearly.

You can sue anything and a lot of it is pretty anonymous.
