Because they’re missing a huge market of people who will never pay for things. I will listen to ads for free music, like I do with spotify. Google’s whole business revolves around ads, I’m sure they could have made it work. They make it work with music videos on youtube

The only option with a dockable keyboard would be the transformers (prime, infinity).
I had the prime, the specs are great but there was some issue with the I/O speeds making it not as buttery as it should be.
I also had the surface, and it was overall smooth, but had hiccups. I didn’t like how thick it was though. And no x86 apps… But it has office which makes it much easier for school (never have conversion issues).
You can register your gmail account as a live account and use that. Still two ecosystems though

I thought the bigger problem was google’s camera software? Maybe the new google+ photo editing is meant to fix that

I got excited when I saw this this morning. For everyone saying that it’s for reading your SMS for authentication, that was already working before the update…
So the new update adds more SMS permissions, so I thought they pushed the SMS update (but no..)

I paid $350 for my phone and $30/month for service. For that price, it’s unbeatable, and that’s all I care about

I’ve tried that exact kernel, it doesn’t look anywhere as good as the blacks and contrast on the gnex. And it kills the brightness of the phone, making it worse than amoled.
I’m not saying that the kernels are useless, but don’t expect a miracle. I’m using Faux kernel with some gamma tweaks and the screen looks much better than stock. I can live with it because other things about the nexus 4 are just that great.

Your argument is terribly constructed. I think iOS looks ugly, cluttered, and just unnecessary. An eyesore by your words. Of all the images you posted, I think the holo/card ones look better. See how it works both ways?
The cards UI is so much cleaner – the information is right there, where you need it, with no clutter to distract from it.
As for your issues with the colors blending in, your laptop doesn’t even have an IPS display, so you’re going to have terrible viewing angles compared to most android phones. The people buying low end devices don’t care about what the OS looks like.

I’ve tried all the various tweaks and kernels to get the blacks better, none of them will ever look as good as AMOLED, don’t waste your time. The nexus 4 screen is crisper though.
I really hate the headphone jack placement, I still naturally try to plug it in on the bottom.
I do like that the N4 is all black, and it’s blazing fast.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing last night. This is how it should be.
There is no point of the chat head bubbles, we already get notifications in the bar.
What we need is a better way to RESPOND to the notifications, ie a popup.
This is kind of how the text messaging app in CM works. But it needs to be system-wide.
