To be honest, other than the rattle, I can’t say I’ve experienced any of those things. And I don’t really shake my phone if I can help it.
Performance wise, it’s still a damn good phone. I was using my gf’s S3, after I had done the most recent official update on it, and that phone seemed slow to the point of being unusable.
I’ve had a few headphones and with the best pair the sound coming from the N4 was very good. The volume is more than sufficient, at least for me.

There has been far too much media propaganda demonizing Megaupload and its owner for any rational point of view to be taken seriously.
Despite the man’s character, which is questionable at best, the way in which he was attacked and brought to his knees should make us all sympathetic for his cause because he was dealt a great injustice. Ad hominem arguments shouldn’t stand in court but they sure do stand in the press and in the minds of most people.

Chair abuse. But if that was aluminium, it would have ended a lot worse.

No company should be entitled to consumer loyalty. Make them work for it. Tides shift very quickly in hardware. One company might have done great things at one time but they never keep up their standards.

The biggest hurdle for Motorola will be distribution. Right now they only exist on the US market. I can’t even remember when I last saw anyone using a Motorola device here in London. I even saw someone with an Oppo Find 5 yesterday and that’s a pretty hard to buy phone, with almost no marketing.
Samsung and Apple are absolutely killing everyone else just through availability. You can get either brand just about anywhere in the world. For any other company to upset that duopoly, it needs distribution first and foremost. Advertising, pricing and specs are irrelevant if the average Joe can’t buy your phone at his own convenience.

It’s a custom version of ICS. There are many variants of Android out there. It wouldn’t really make sense to have full blown mobile Android on Glass or a smart watch.

Waterproofing needs to become a standard not a quirk. Feature phones didn’t really need it because using one in the rain wasn’t a big inconvenience. Having a touchscreen even a small drop of water can render the phone unusable.

If only they’d get rid of hardware buttons. And make it waterproof. But it does look very impressive.
However I’m not buying another phone that doesn’t tick all the boxes. I’m tired of comprises when it comes to hardware.

I really hope they don’t. There are a lot of things that need improvement much more than design.

What latest features? Hardware is seriously outpacing software when it comes to smartphones. How many developers are coding for quad core phones?

I was using Firefox exclusively last year but gave it up as soon as I could use Chrome and haven’t looked back since.
I just installed the beta right now and I have to say there are two things that are incredibly annoying. The rubber band effect was cool last year but now it just seems like a gimmick. What’s the sense behind it? But that wouldn’t be that bad if not for the other, more important, drawback. Scrolling speed. Yes, Chrome stutters but Firefox is just incredibly slow. Going from top to bottom on a sizeable page takes almost twice as long.
But if those things don’t bother you, and I’m sure they wouldn’t bother most people, Firefox looks very good. Extensions are great and font rendering is top notch. Also page sizing seems a bit better. But the scrolling speed just ruins it for me.

How many apps are actually written to take advantage of the two extra cores?
It’s the same problem that PC CPUs have with games. Very few take advantage of the extra cores, so in the end all the heavy lifting is done by the GPU.

I didn’t know the S2 even had S-voice. But it’s because of bloatware like that that I am grateful for custom ROMs. Thanks to Cyanogenmod and Paranoid Android you can sidestep OEM skins and get the same experience on a lot of android devices.

If you get pie controls, accidental taps on software buttons are a thing of the past. What I really like about the N4 is the fact that it’s a complete black slab in the front, no buttons, no stupid branding, just pure slick phone.

I remember reading this somewhere else but can’t place it right now. It certainly seems plausible but for it to be effective they would have to change the way updates are delivered. Most older phones have run out of support from both manufacturers and carriers so even if Google could optimize Android it would be all for nothing if it couldn’t reach the phones that would need it the most.
If Google can pull that off successfully, they would truly have outdone Apple in a very big way.
