Way to build up that strawman argument! Almost made it look hard to knock down. The guy is clearly a shit who used a loophole to get out of paying taxes. Once you have that much cash, US citizenship doesn’t mean a whole lot. The OP was just saying he should shut up and take his money because no one is buying his BS, and it just makes him look worse.

I just wish they would stop throttling Netflix and Redux TV. Completely unfair for them to do that.

I think you are right. I think that Apple makes a good product, and I recommend them to many of my family and friends. But all this makes me want to do boycott them.

There is nothing good about prohibiting the spread of good ideas. We should only do so to the extent that it protects the creation of new good ideas, and we think that profits are a way to incentivize that creation. But Apple has all the incentive it could ever need to create new good ideas (seriously, has anyone SEEN their quarterly statements). So prohibiting others from using Apple’s ideas no appreciable societal benefit.

Apple became one of the biggest companies in the world in the wake of the iPhone. Their “risk” has been duly rewarded. The existence of competent competition has been a huge benefit to consumers, and has not had a perceivable negative impact on Apple. No harm, no foul.

Good policy can only come about when it is informed by good facts. All this is is Apple getting a windfall by abusing a hopelessly broken intellectual property system.

I have to buy a car in the next year or so… Just wish I could afford this, but won’t. Think I’ll just go for the Fusion for now…

Hey, the 90’s allowed us to get super cynical and sarcastic very young. These days people have to have a “genuineness” rebirth at 25 or so to realize that sometimes people’s motives are just what they are. Life is often too confusing or time consuming to bother trying to lie and hide things from other people…

But it necessarily takes experience to figure this out.
