You CLEARLY haven’t been paying attention. Microsoft has had this app ready and waiting for Google to provide the proper APIs (required to play videos with ads) and Google refuses. They gave API access to Apple.

Well, they arguably have a monopoly on web video, so they are likely using that monopoly power illegally by picking and choosing who gets proper API access. Microsoft knows these laws all too well and I’m sure that Google is due for a lesson.

Do you even KNOW what you’re talking about?

According to Google, “Windows Phone isn’t where the users are”, so the loss of revenue should be miniscule. Besides, it is Google that refuses to build an app, so isn’t Google Scroogling their content partners? Isn’t Google the one holding back the proper APIs needed to play the videos with the ads? I think your arrow is aimed at the wrong target.

You could also use OneNote on just about every platform. Microsoft gives most of our good stuff away for free to competing platforms.

I use Word all the time. I keep an invoice template and send them as soon as I’m done with a job/gig.
Also, I see your argument about “viewing” and can say the same thing about Instagram; I have been able to view Instagram for a long time with Windows Phone. I don’t, but I’ve had the capability. Even now, I could post there, but I choose not to.
Everyone wants to chide Microsoft for not having Instagram when Microsoft would use the app it created with its OWN resources and InstaGrime still says no. This isn’t a ‘business’ decision because of market share. It’s also not very “social” if you’re targeting groups of people for exclusion.

As I don’t have access to the marketing plans of Microsoft, can you please tell me the demographics of the “group of people that Microsoft is targeting with Windows Phone” and what the intersection is with the Instagram user base?
