Why don’t we hear about sales numbers from other phone launches? Why only the iPhone? It is as if that is the only one that matters. Why on AT&T and Verizon, do we get a breakdown of iPhones vs. everything else, rather than getting the number of Samsung, or Galaxy, or even Android phones? Why only the iPhone?
The ad does not invite people to check out this other option; it implores people to switch. The only reason it gives for doing so is that Windows Phone is not the one that people are passionate about. Interesting. That is an odd message for the average person. For the net-savy fanboys, pretending that MS fans are not some of the most rabid, frothing at the mouth crazies the world has ever know, is outrageous.
As an SNL skit, this ad is pitch perfect. As an attempt to sell things, it’s a dumpster fire of a disaster.
