That’s what’s so beautiful about it, this is 3D done right. It adds depth to each scene without anything popping out at you. It’s immersive without sinking to overt gimmickry.

I bought this on your recommendation. It’s freaking awesome.

Seems like a lateral move, more than a step forward. Depending on employee morale, possibly even a step back. But when you have a schizophrenic board of directors, what can you do?

Furthermore, if they go solely with SSD (guessing 256 and 512) then they gain the space from the HDD as well. That is essentially gaining 40-50% volume in the battery.

I’m guessing here, but I think the 13 will go away and we’ll just have the 15 and 17 at 2800×1800 resolution. Intel has stated that Ivy will be able to drive 4k x 2k in 2D, and the computer can always downscale to a lower rez for more graphically intensive programming. Also, with the 13" out of the way, there would be no need to worry about cramming a discrete GPU into that small chassis. Also, don’t forget, with the optical drive going away, they’re finding a lot of leftover space for more battery.

So what prevents them from running 2880×1800 on the 17?

Hopefully they get some good backing.

2 Ensemble cast integrated in a spectacular manner (typical Joss)
3) Nothing felt out of place, story moved smoothly.
4) 3D wasn’t “in your face”
