It’s just your perception. I’ve had far more Western Digital external drives fail on me than LaCie, but that doesn’t warrant blanket statements.

All drives are unreliable. LaCie’s enclosures have had many different manufacturer’s drives in them over the years.

This whole trend is just bad news.
Also, it might be worth pointing out that LaCie makes enclosures, I don’t think they’ve ever made disks themselves like the other companies mentioned.
