Your inability to understand both how this will help and how organ transplants work astounds me.

It seems to me this only raises awareness (which is good). People see their friends as organ donors, go to click to add it to their own profile, and are redirected to the appropriate national/regional site. Facebook is saying “Hey, its cool to be an organ donor” which should serve to increase the number of donors.
