while she is likely improving the company (I don’t even doubt that), whether it’s in ways that matter and/or bring the company success? That’s another story altogether. Ceo’s typically turn the screw a little clockwise and the next one counterclockwise. etc.

It’s really not hard to speculate that Tumblr and Yahoo don’t really go together.

Skype went to garbage the second MS acquired it. That hasn’t really changed since then. There are many existing issues including vulnerabilities which have never been patched.

As far as tumblr, I don’t see any synergy between the two. Tumblr is more like livejournal than anything, and not something that goes well with yahoo’s nonexistent quality controls on all of their news sources/generally unpopular blogs. This is a trainwreck in the making. Tumblr makes out like a bandit (money upfront). When a company has to say “we promise not to screw this up”, there’s already problems on the way.

I give it 6-7 months (post acquisition) before a goodwill writedown and 1 year + 3 months (post acquisition) before an acknowledged screwup.
