Problem with analysts and the problem with commenters on this website is the same one. People with no expertise on the matter trying to predict the future. An predicting the future is folly.

People buy a range of devices, from 3DS to iPhones to Android phones but frankly it would be sad to live in the world where you can only buy an iPhone/Android smartphone for gaming. Some games on the iPhone are excellent but other games it simply can’t handle. For this you have the 3DS/Vita. An there is market as long as the price it right as shown by the 3DS. Yes is doesn’t sell as many as the iPhone/ipod/ipad but nothing does. Apple is unique and what they are doing has never happened before in the electronics industry in history.

Its the same as people who say game consoles are dead. What are they going to be replaced with? An apple tv with kinect style controls. Great so all we’re going to play is dance central???

The iPad/iPhone need some sort of controller, touch screen controls dont relay work with most games. Angry birds is great but sometimes you need a joystick and some buttons. Max Payne is a great example, looks great on my ipad but controlling it is frustrating.
