I don’t think the people that have been killed so far are an example of abuse of power, however, it doesn’t change the fact that it is still very easy for this or future administrations to abuse it, which is the reason most people are upset.

true, though it also excludes grains or legumes when there is evidence that certain kinds are healthy.
It’s not like eating bread once and a while is going to kill you, but I agree that staying away from large amounts of processed foods is a good idea.

It’s obviously a lot of things. Like the lack of mountain lions near our homes.
There are studies that go either way saying that low or high fat is bad or good which indicates that this problem is complex and hard to control in studies, which is why you’re probably best hedging and taking aspects from both kinds of diets.

That was hyperbole.
There are certainly some very good upsides to the paleo diet. However, there are also downsides, which may not be discussed on the blog of someone advocating ‘paleo’.
There are certainly a lot of problems with the average western diet that can be helped over the short term by moving to a lower carb diet. Whether this is healthy over the long run (as linked above) is still up for debate as the problem is complicated and hard to investigate individual causes. Given that there is a long history of studies (which admittedly may have some flaws) that show eating a lot of certain high fat foods may be unhealthy you probably don’t want to completely exclude them.

That’s not necessarily true. Assuming sugar/carbs are the same between both kinds.
If you’re eating yogurt for the nutrients than your body may absorb fewer of these in the low fat version.
If you’re eating it for the protein content then you may not want the extra calories provided from the full fat version (which will still make you fat if you eat them in excess).
Often the low-fat kinds are higher in sugar or have a higher glycemic load so that’s something to take into account as well.

While true that it provides weightless and minimal difference in vascular problems over the short term the effects are not so clear over longer terms
It’s probably healthier to avoid eating lots of carbs (especially of the high glycemic load kind) and things that high in animal fat. Fat (even saturated fat) doesn’t isn’t bad if it comes from the right sources. So don’t go loading up on the all bacon diet…

Acid whey isn’t toxic to humans (it just has an unfortunate name) but has a wide variety of uses as mentioned in the article since it contains a lot of the nutrients found in milk.

The main reason to use bloomberg is that it sucks less than Reuters or other competitors, having a universal chat service isn’t going to make more people want to use something different.

Yeah I know there are options. I just don’t want to have to switch services when using phone or laptop because it’s inconvenient. I would prefer to be able to toggle the encryption on/off as needed.
Google moving away from the open standard is a huge step backwards in my opinion. Hopefully, someone else can move in to fill this space.

Well with Google Talk on the xmpp standard I could use OTR in pidgin which encrypts the messages preventing even Google from determining the message.

Also I don’t like that BBM messages are routed through RIM’s servers and that they have the ability to decrypt your messages.
