I was referring to the ability of running your Xbox on a different device other than the actual Xbox. That would be accomplished with Hyper-V. Azure would help with distributed computing. Think of it as XaaS.

Nah. Didn’t seem harsh to me. You are good. :)
I think it all comes down to Hyper-V being able to handle low level latency issues. That tech may not be here yet. But that is not to say it can’t come. Citrix XenDesktop just announced that it will be able to handle HighEnd graphical demands in a VDI environment for applications such as CAD. So it isn’t that much of a stretch to see that capability in the future.

No. I really don’t like it all that much. I get why it looks the way it does though. As stated above, its meant to look like a cable box and the such.
All in all. I am ok with it. The looks won’t stop me from purchasing one.

I wasn’t trying to make it sounds really easy. I’m speculating for the sake of it. Plus, its fun. :)
Just knowing that the OS is running in a VM seems very interesting to me. Going off of some of the aspirations that MS had for this console, it wouldn’t seem very suprising. It all depends on how MS gives access to the hardware. I’m guessing we’ll learn more about that in June.
Maybe we won’t be seeing anything like this during this generation either. But running the console in a VM is a very interesting way to do it as it creates a ton of flexibility for this console. Just use your imagination (queue rainbow)

Think about it like this. The Xbox is a network. Not really a physical box anymore. It’s all about the services. That’s at least what can happen when connected to XBL and Azure.

FUD. They have said nothing about it recording.

Personally, I think this would be a wonderful idea. But BAC is just one of many things that impair drivers. I’m sure it would help though.

How about this. Face the camera towards you. Have it monitor your vitals and shut down the car if you were to say have a heart attack or something. Then call emergency services.

Exactly. I remember reading some of the leaked documents about them stating eliminating the need to upgrade your console every 7 to 10 years. Using Hyper-V would fit that bill completely.

I just comes down to this. Us consumers don’t have the time or convience to deal with these big company “Sour Grapes” issues. Acting like this harms the consumer regardless of who it is.
He could have pushed it through the common channels and never heard back from them. Sent it over to Sophos or another security firm. He chose not to. It’s just petty and I’m tired of being on the butt end of petty.

I’m sure Google has done that to Apple plenty of times. Oh wait.
There is a difference between a lone person publishing ZeroDay exploits and a person representing one of the largest tech companies on the planet.

Simple thing. Xbox Reveal is spread out between 3 conferences.
1) for the consumer face hardware and overview. That was yesterday.
2) E3 which will focus exclusivly on its gaming capabilities.
3) BUILD developer conference which is strictly for actual “developers”
I don’t know why this is so hard for people to grasp?

I’m with you. Basically, I just want the platform to be taken seriously enough to where banks have to develops apps for them and so on…..
I don’t care about the number. I want to just see the platform taken seriously enough so people have to develop for WP and it just not being an after thought like it is now.

I gotcha. Mirrors on the walls and just the technical limitations of a projector will definitely require some end user setup. I think the augmented reality possibilities are awesome though.

As far as the cost of Ultra Short Throw projectors go, I would tend to agree with you. It can be compact. It can be flexible. Its the cost that will prohibit this.

Yes, he said reveal. I think he stopped well short of a product announcment. Probably like when we saw project Natal. Once that was announced, it still took over a year to start manufacturing.

Well rumor is that the Illumiroom isn’t even close to a full product yet. So we probably won’t be seeing anything regarding this. I do love the concept though. It’s taking our perception of video games to a completely different level.

Yeah. I can agree with you there. MS really needs to focus on ubiquity right now.
Comment
Yes. It is a product problem but it is also marketing. MS really needs to lay out a clear vision for consumers. They suck so bad at this. Not just xbox music but look at Windows RT, Surface RT and WinRT. I am certain that people on this board think all three of those things are exactly the same.
That is a marketing problem.
Consumers shouldn’t have to study up to determine which product will suit them best.
