Nikon D3200 – 16 oz.
Dimensions: 5.0 in. (125mm) x 3.8 in. (96mm) x 3.1 in. (76.5mm)
Fuji XPRO – 14.1 oz
Dimensions: 139.5 (W) x 81.8 (H) x 42.6 (D) mm
The Fuji is 2 oz lighter and slightly wider but not as a deep as a D3200. In other words, you’re gaining very little for a $1400 price premium.

Yep, it’s a better, cheaper, faster Leica.

Indeed, i have heard that the firmware updates have made the x100 a dramatically better camera because of focus speed.

c’mon, Hexx, think about it. What CaNikon buyer is going to spend double what they would spend on this Fuji? What OM-D buyer will double their budget to buy the XPRO? Very few of these folks will do that.
This is for Leicaphiles who can’t afford a Leica. That is the target audience.

For pixel peepers, it may indeed be worth it. For most of us, no way. It’s simply too expensive vis a vis other great cameras.

This camera is great, but it’s a minimum $2000 buy-in to the system. The Nikon D3200 is $700. That is a huge price difference. If you want a small size, the OM-D is $1100 with a zoom lens.
Sorry, this is a great camera that suffers from aspirational pricing. You’ll get the Leica buyer who can’t afford Leica, but how big of an audience is that?

I like what Olympus has done with noise surpression on darker areas of photos…. looks like a big step up from the e-pl2 that got noisy fast. Best improvement by far.
I like how the video function is a better focusing camera now.
Still disappointed by the lack of dynamic range. Even in bright light, my e-pl2 makes it appear as though there’s a film of grey in shots. In some shots, the dullness is more pronounced, like when pictures are taken in brighter light.
The OM-D looks like it has that characteristic as well.
On the plus side, Olympus cameras have excellent light meters that really pull out detail. It’s an odd combo.
Took some pictures this weekend and compared my e-pl2 to my Sony a65. The Sony won by a good margin.
How does the OM-D stack up against the APS-C sized sensors in the Sony cameras?
