Hardware : MacBook5.1 , iPod Touch 4, Apple TV 2, iPad 2 :
I have been called an Apple fanboy because I am invested in and like the OSX / iOS system and appreciate Apples hardware design and suprising Chinese build quality (thanks Foxconn). I like google Chrome as a browser, and think the term windblows is appropriate al la vista kin IE et. al.
I have a home built Linux only desktop and a pair of windows machines, and I manage a Win 7 laptop and desktop for a tech newb relative.
For cameras I roll a Pentax W90 for the rough when hiking and snowboarding: whilst I recently replaced a Canon A590is (handed down to the newb) with a Canon S95 for almost everything else. My iPod touch cameras get worked with the app PhotoStitch for strange photo fun or if my S95 is not with me.
I roll a Prius, Phantom X and GSXR600 on the street and buy ethanol free gas for my ice machines.
About Me:
Former Engadget browser, I switched to TIMN and then The Verge because The AOL way is lost!
I dislike the big 4 wireless carriers for their data plan ripoffs, but rock a dumb phone on big red :|
I also dislike the Comcast / Time Warner telecom duopoly or anything else sleazy and unethical that is bad for the free market and consumers: but surf via Comcast xfinity cable :/
I am a Christian and a Scientist in RL, and have a Eco green bent for recycling, energy conservation, electric vehicles, organic foods and locally made goods.
I was a tech nerd long before I was an Apple fan, and like Ubuntu as much as I like OSX.
I like to joke around with my comments, so don't get too bent out shape: negative emotions are toxic!
Peace
PS: please excuse all of my typos: English is my primary language. The typos are driven by three issues. 1 iOS autocorrect, 2 Virtual keyboards and the lack of tactile feedback, 3 most of the time I am commenting on the verge it's via my iPod or iPad. I can't wait for comment editing to arrive on the verge!

That is exactly what electric cars need to appeal to a larger audience: faster charging. They also need better range like the vehicles from “Tesla Motors”
I wrote a blog posting about Electric vehicles you might find interesting:

Yea, for less than 1/2 the price of the iPad, you get what you pay for ~ Is the SILK browser improving? I heard from an AT&T network engineer that the optimization of the Amazon elastic cloud computer (EC2) server pre-rendering for the Silk browser requires a lot of “real world end user utilization” : so now t hat the Fire has been burning for a while, I am curious if you have noticed any notable improvements in browsing performance on your fire?

Official Android App Market Support is badly needed to make the Fire a “hot” buy alternative to other tablets ~

I know a lot of people that watch movies on their computers (I do too) : netflix, hulu, and vergcast now combine to offer a descent * :P comcast* salute ~ so A logitech or similar 5.1 up on the desk makes such media experiences all the more rich and immersion : DD+ support will only make a more compelling cast for Win 8

That interview was inspiring on many levels. I was inspired in highschool to become a scientist by computers, the internet, and by images from the NASA Hubble space telescope….
The US governments actions to defund NASA angers me almost more than anything else…
In a time when people need inspiration to become the solver of problems, I made a choice to become an environmental scientist and graduated into a failed marketplace where obesity, inactivity, social isolation and celebrity obsession has replaced the technical inspiration that drove the previous generations to innovate….. its saddening and disturbing that people care more about meaningless trivial crap then they do about becoming the change they want to see in the world.
I love the case Alan made for tying together “sustainability” with “profitability” : where sustainable companies have to adapt to doing “more” with “less” in order to stay competitive : it is therefore within the business world’s fiscal interest to fully embrace energy efficiency, resource conservation and innovation! Win Win Win :
The 3E’s are important : people do care about the :
Economy
Energy Efficiently
Environmental Sustainability
Woot Woot : Alan Mulally just became one of my Hero’s ~

Facebook’s timeline roll out was enough to give me pause for thought about how I should seriously reconsider how much time I spend on facebook. Using FB less has been liberating and refreshing in its own way ~
As for giving up the internet all together ~ I would consider that extreme considering how pervasive the internet has become in terms of affecting the daily lives of so many people.
Like one poster said, removing internet from your personal life is one things: so many of us are required to have email access for work~ school~ bill paying~ ect…

That sucks : more buying options is always nice : I like e-readers like the kindle. Once you run about 20 books through them they are more resource friendly then printed books. I also like being able to easily carry around a library worth of books on a tiny device that weighs the same amount as a paperback. The e-ink battery life also makes LCD based devices seem totally silly. The sunlight readable display also makes it a pleasure to read on. I think it is a bad business move for target to drop the kindles, but so be it. Let the chips fall as they may ~ the free market will vote accordingly… sorta….

How have we become so connected to and disconnected from one another simultaneously?
So much has been said about the “digital divide” which separates the “have’s” and “have not’s” of computer hardware… but the real irony exists within the “divide” created by digital communications.
