Because of the new translucency effects the infobar at the top is being rendered differently in order to allow apps to pass under it. Momentarily apps believe there is no bar there at all so they fill the screen then squidge down when they notice it.
Like most arguments of this kind, if you simplify your description of it enough then of course it sounds generic. If you can’t see the inspiration from Apple’s product pages then you’re either kidding yourself or blind. There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s a beautifully designed page and there’s certainly room on the web for more thoughtful page layouts, but Apple is the progenitor.
It looks really nice, it’s ‘flatter’ (though I’m loathe to use the term), but still keeps the appealing gradients etc. which stops it from going fully bland like Windows Phone. Like clauzzz203 said, this is the only iOS concept I’ve actually liked so far, so good job.
And how long will it take for this feature to ‘roll out’? Still waiting on that News Feed redesign they announced….what was it? 3 months ago now? And how long has it been since they announced Graph Search?
