Except that there are several sources supporting the numbers above, and pretty much just the IdDC supporting their own numbers. So, it’s all those other sources who are conspiring and not just the IDC perhaps being wrong with their formula?

The type of cable isn’t the problem.
The problem is that it does nothing to actually “crack” TV, because the TV is still completely separate from the console, it’s just a pass through pipe.
It’s Google TV all over again. Jobs’ answer, whatever it was, and regardless of whether or not it is/was better than anything we have now, was certainly not a rehash of the same failed and lame solutions.

Depends on what you want.
My phone experience relies on first party apps or default OS stuff about 10% of the time.
Android may win some of that 10% stuff, but the third party apps on iOS easily win the other 90%.

In some cases it makes sense, I see the value in some levels of integration, like twitter and facebook, or flickr and youtube; because they are kind of one-trick-pony services anyway. I don’t generally see the value in having every single action be “shareable”, and the necessary persistent UI that comes along with it. You’re right that those other services have their own apps as well, and frankly, the dedicated apps are better than the integrations, so I like the separation. Sharing your notes to Wordpress just seems silly when the Wordpress app already allows you to write drafts and add photos. Notes to Wordpress doesn’t even make sense to me.

I don’t think they really have to expose a file system at all in order to improve file management. It just needs better callbacks or awareness between apps.

Far more often than on YouTube.
But I am not looking for shitty vlogs or kitten videos either.
Also, the community and commenters are 1000x better on Vimeo too. YouTube comments are the very pits of the web.

These “problems” are already live in iOS google maps and google earth. The interface is the only thing that’s “beta” and invite only.
