Is this anything more than an SoC pissing contest?
In real world usage, most of these numbers mean nothing. The OS and apps affect performance far more than any SoC improvements do. And it seems, instead of optimizing the OS or apps to the proper SoC, Android OEMs are just throwing specs at the problem hoping to fix it, and being increasingly uninterested in optimization, which is making the spec bumps have less and less impact in real world performance.

Revealed? It’s not like Apple said “you can’t use commands” it is just that ou don’t have to remember to. How is that hiding anything? There was nothing to reveal.

Try these with voice commands
“remind me to take out the trash when I get home”
“do I need an umbrella today”
“tell Stephanie I’ll be home for dinner”
Your whole post boiled down to “haha, you’re all arrogant pitiful idiots for thinking Siri is better” except that Siri is better, because you don’t have to simplify it down to specific commands.

I agree with this for the most part. I rarely change those toggles, which is why I like intelliscreenx’s implementation, they are never seen unless you open the NC and pull down to display them. I wouldn’t care if iOS didn’t implement them, and I wouldn’t be thinking its a huge innovation if they did.

Photo stream creates a folder on your PC or Mac for shared images, you can drop any photos in there and it automatically uploads. It’s not just for sharing images from your device.
But if you are so used to the file system mentality, than the adjustments to simple albums could be complicated, but I don’t think that means iOS is doing it in an inferior way. As a photographer I already organize my stuff by albums, not sub folders, so the iOS structure is better for me than just a file system structure.

He’d isn’t saying the platform had 1.5% paid apps, just that 1.5% of downloaded apps are paid for…I don’t know if that’s true, but it’s a completely different stat than the percentage of all android apps.

iOs is a departure from the “desktop” system.
I never really thought that with the level of features that both systems have that I would actually see people touting swappable fonts and color schemes as the platforms biggest strengths or weaknesses…is any of that very important to anyone who is over 18 an has better things to do than tweak their phone to “represent” their personality or something?

So, you want to get people to be more reasonable by posting veiled insults and flame bait? You called people arrogant and pitiful, and then implied that “SOME of us” are better just because you use something besides Apple. Yeah, I’m sure that will work out great. You’re trolling, in both forums, simple as that.
The point of Siri is that it CAN recognize natural language, something that voice commands can’t do at all. You don’t have to be genius to know that a simple command will be more easily recognized than a casual conversational command, but with Siri, you can do either, or both, and you never have to remember what command does what. Siri will improve when it comes out of Beta; unlike Google, Apple isn’t going to keep a product in Beta for 5+ years. I’m confident that they will open up the API and tweak the recognition algorithms, and Siri will improve dramatically, soon.

What Apple product made in the last 5 years has been a disappointment to the general public? Sure people that follow rumors and speculation closely may be disappointed that Apple hasn’t invented a warp drive, but the general public is pretty pleased with every new release.

It’s not rocket science to see that any simple command is easier to recognize than natural speech. The difference is that Siri can recognize simple commands and natural speech, that already makes it better than voice commands, because voice commands require specific commands. And quit pretending Android dreamed that up, the iPhone had simple voice commands do years, and my WinMo phone had Android quality voice commands 6 years ago. So, if you want to memorize a bunch of commands than Siri is just like Voice commands. If you don’t than voice command is useless, and Siri still works.
Siri’s strength will improve when Apple opens up the API, which will happen.

Photo stream on iOS makes adding photos to your phone completely hands off. And contrary to what the android “voice commands are awesome” crowd thinks, Siri is better, and will keep improving.

Of course simple commands are easier for Siri to interpret. Thats not a revelation in any way. The point is that you don’t need them. And Siri is way better than voice commands. Stop being intentionally dense.
Are you gonna post every idiotic flame bait post you dream up in both the android and apple forums?

I actually like the texture as opposed to the flat boringness of metro and holo.
Take out some of the gloss, more matte finishes
but I like the linen, and some of the other stuff
some of the leather and thread is a bit overdone, but still better than flat blocks like Metro

Third party Siri API
Better inter-app communication
Quick setting toggles in NC (intelliscreenX implements this the best IMO)
No hardware variations
No widgets on the homescreen
No notification LED
No “make it just like everything else”
No change just for the sake of change
Don’t kludge up iMessage with other chat protocols
An Apple owned, data friendly MVNO, so that when LTE comes, I don’t blow through the data cap in a week (very wishful thinking).

The third change that would majorly improve iOS in my opinion would be a consistent app interface. ICS has holo, and WP has metro. Change just for change is worthless, but I think it would be neat if each app had a consistent feel, so that it is not as big of a jump when multitasking.
No. Just no.
I don’t want all my apps to look the same.
Holo and Metro, so far, haven’t really provided any great app designs; sure, they look great in some of the OS apps, but not in third party apps. Everything just looks like the same cookie cutter garbage.

The people they take to court aren’t trying to compete with Apple, they’re trying to rip Apple off. You don’t see Apple taking Nokia or LG to court, do you? No, because those companies have original ideas.

They aren’t tying publishers to their platform, they are free to sell their books on other markets. Apple’s format won’t be readable on your Kindle, but your PS3 game won’t play on your Xbox either.
