Yep, I had didn’t even realize it was happening, but now things are so much better. The Galaxy Nexus was actually pretty good when I was going stock for awhile. It doesn’t really need to be rooted. I’ve learned now to balance. I do have my phone rooted now, but only for the LTE toggle in the notification pull down. I’m running CM9, but I only update when I really feel like I need to (once every couple of weeks maybe). I don’t bother with kernels anymore. I feel like in the end most of the kernel “enhancements” were more of a placebo effect anyway.

I would certainly say I learned my lesson. Luckily I was able to recognize the problem before it got too extreme, but it could have gotten worse. CMG90 has a point that I should have been more attentive and respectful, but that’s why I wrote this post. As technology enthusiasts I’ve seen too many people get sucked into their hobbies and forget about the important things right in front of them. I felt the same way as you, CMG90, but then didn’t realize when I was doing it myself.

At the time SMS seemed like one extra step that I didn’t really want to take. I also didn’t really realize I should have been backing it up at the time either.
