In relevancy of this article you are in fact paying for Fox. This is a Dish service, there-go you are paying Dish who pays Fox for rights to rebroadcast.

well for live tv channels those ad’s are from the content provider not the tv service provider so I doubt they can cut commercials out for any live tv stream, which is what they are trying to create by this.
I just want east coast time on all my cable channels again. When HD first started all the cable stations only had a single new HD channel running at est, which was nice for me on the west coast to not have to wait for late night programming. Now they’ve gotten around to making additional channels at PST and removed the est ones…

I just design the buildings, not work in them. But believe me, there are some crazy security requirements for companies that work on national security projects. No siri? please, I’ve got chambers which block all electronic signal waves. No cell service, wifi, bluetooth, or anything else you can think of, instead they use corded phones.

With win 8 providing a more touch sensitive friendly UI, I think it would be easy for someone to modify and allow this to be used in place of a touch panel for desktop operations.

Its like the housing bubble but with tech companies. Its worth is not in its revenue but only in what other people evaluate its worth at. As such it can tank the second investors realize other investors won’t pay for it, making it very risky to buy or to keep in long term. Anything where you are investing against other peoples perceptions should be considered short term stocks.

What else is there for the marketing department to do? I’m surprised there is no comparison of the previous Centrino to the Ultrabook in the article. It’s all just marketing for intel, albeit it seems ultrabook took off more than centrino did.

Is video the future of voice? Nope.
We had voice before texting and email, yet those are popular now because sometimes we just want to write instead of actually speaking to you, so why would I want to see you or allow you to see me?

Because there is a much larger difference in renouncing your citizenship when its your native country than not. The fact he wasn’t a USA citizen to begin with makes a big difference in my eyes, and is a fairly large oversight for the article to not mention it. He spent less than half his life as a citizen of the USA, to me that means he was only partially here to begin with. Its a bit subjective, but how long does one need to be in the USA to make it a big deal? 1 year, 2 years, 10 years? It’s only because he’s rich as hell its making the headlines and they sensationalized it a bit by not providing all the facts.

Do you pay extra per month for that feature on dish? Dish still has to pay to air FOX, NBC, and others local channels to rebroadcast what should be theoretically free over the air broadcasts. Its just for the convenience of not having to switch between an antenna and your cable box.

wolfenstein 3d? psh… I still have my wolfenstein 2d on atari. First game with destructible physics as you could blow holes through walls and make your own doors. I don’t quite remember how the controls worked though, I just kinda remember using two joysticks at the same time.

I should expand on that, I have half life, half life 2, HL 2 ep 1, HL 2 ep 2 and portal all of which I have never played. I bought in for CS, CSS, and TF2, the rest was just extras… I just bought portal 2, so now it can make the rest not feel so lonely.

I still have portal 1 from the orange box which I never bothered playing. I’ll buy portal 2, but it will probably just sit around in my steam account with a bunch of other stuff.

Looks at psychonauts, who is it made by? Doublefine productions.
Look at portal 2, who is it made by? Valve/Steam
The reason why psychonauts is on GOG is because it is not a valve/steam game. Anything actually made by valve/steam will require a steam id, there are no exceptions.

“the company’s … unpopular Origin distribution service”
haha to say the least. I very much dislike origin, only reason they have so many subscribers is they force you into it to play their newest games. I enjoyed the battlefield series, but bf3 may be the last I play of it. I shall admit to my bias to steam, however the steams app for android is just pure tech porn. The next counterstrike can’t come soon enough.

BTW most tests are in conjunction with engineers throughout the world. The UCSD professors travel to japan and assist with the tests over there. And Japanese engineers go to UCSD for some of the tests over here. The primary point of this test is not of the base isolation but of the post earthquake fire resistance of the structure which has never been tested before. As non structural components such as piping supplying sprinklers and piping for natural gas can rupture and not provide an ideal situation for fire resistance.
BTW I got my undergrad through UCSD’s structural engineering program and have watched the base isolation tests they did for the bay bridge base isolators.

You could apply that to the entire legal system. Has there ever been a trial where the verdict wasn’t agreed with so they move for mistrial or appeal? Then the fun just starts over.

OSHPD has different standards, same with DSA. There are separate sections in the California building code for hospitals and public schools which put them at higher standards than the rest.
Also there is a lot of other code related jargon to where you are allowed to test at certified laboratories and materials coming from certified mills etc; but this has more to do with approval of small items, not for a test like this.
