You should probably try a few new track pads. There’s this new technology called palm rejection. Works pretty well.
In any case, I think this is a point of personal preference. And since Lenovo is the only one sticking to points, it’s kind of a conversation ender.

Sorry about your tablet, but that sounds like an Android problem to me. I do suppose you could blame that on Lenovo’s skin.
But that’s beside the point. Lenovo DOES make incredible good PCs, which is the point of the article.

Of course, when a company skins the **** out of it, ICS magically becomes just as crappy as Gingerbread. Me thinks there’s a bigger issue here, Moto.

I mention this in my comment above as well, but I do wonder if by removing the orb more people will use the keyboard. Seems to make sense if the very next task is usually typing in a search.

A related question for everyone then:
How many of you mouse-and-click on the orb and how many use the windows key on your keyboard?
Ever since I installed W8 I’ve been trying to use the windows key. I think MS is trying to push this, but I wonder how many others already do or are intending to in the future.

Wacom.
In other words: one-to-one spatial relationships. On a wacom, every ‘dot’ on the tablet relates to a real ‘dot’ on the screen. By extension, by swiping the edge of the tablet we could swipe the ‘edge’ of the screen (rather than simply move a mouse cursor from the edge to the center) and, for instance, bring up a Charms Bar. I’m not sure if this has to be built into the OS or if Wacom can fenagle a command like this into the driver.

Actually, it is a million times more intuitive. Especially for people who have never used a mouse before. Have you ever seen someone use a computer with a mouse for the first time? Have you ever seen someone use an ATM for the first time? The way we’re going with phones and tablets, the next generation could very well have no idea how to use a mouse.
Next time you’ve lost your cursor in a sea of windows and weird photo backgrounds, just remember that you couldv’e already hit three icons.
THAT SAID: Vertical touch surfaces are not the future of touch. With any luck, we’ll have multi-cursor and semi-horizontal surfaces/monitors as the new standard by 2020.

Because touch sucked on previous versions of Windows. All you could do was ‘click’.
