its all about the rounded picture .. as with gaming on a smartphone,5 minute touchscreen games are not the pinnacle of gaming but it works because its in your pocket along with GPS navigation,phone calls and texts,email,apps,video and still camera etc – android gaming on a TV brings Apps and media player functions to your telly with physical controller based games – a nice package when the price is right
they are all great games but are pretty much click,sit back, click rather than real time interaction/guidance of objects and characters these like trajectory games (angry birds) work well on a touch screen, action RPGs do not,platform games don’t , FPS games don’t – the list goes on – the ecosystem will of course flourish because having games on your mobile is an added feature but it will never be as responsive or tactile as even something to ancient as the atari 2600 controller
seems tinged with irony when people pan motion controls (as an option) and in the next breath suggest a touch screen phone would be the way to go – worst control scheme ever!
incorrect, I really like his stuff but look at his review of the UI on the Oppo phones, it is a janky MIUI rip off with worse icons and seasonal wallpaper changes with snow flakes on the homescreen – he seemed to think it was awesome/classy/added value. I hope he goes onto bigger things,he would be great at the verge but he doesn’t top the rounded reviews from Vlad,David,Josh etc
these handsets are crippled by their OS, nokia could be kings again with android and the obligatory custom UI, unlike samsung the features they would add to android would actually have substance I imagine.can they get a new CEO or something ? this is stupid
so these photos look really nice, but that one dude who said he misses his GS2 camera spoiled it for me ! my contract is up in july and Im thinking of skipping a generation or two by signing up for a non phone (no subsidised handset) because no phone has a big enough bump in camera quality without introducing janky features, the S4 would be an option but only with custom roms to remove the bloaty “features” like air gestures and smart scrolling… I love everything about the nexus 4 EXCEPT the camera, I just can’t do it now that I am a dad and need to have a reliable shooter happy for catching cute moments.. please google, put LTE in there if you like but please,please put in a better shooter
If it means performance can keep improving while maintaining that ppi (fairly marginal gains as you get higher ) then this is one apple decision I actually agree with..now incorporate nfc and choose an existing wireless charging standard!
I played them through on wii then tried touchscreen controls on my ipad and wanted to smash it, this is why Nintendo should continue with consoles and physical controls, convenience and price are the only things going for touchscreen gaming
