I’m suspecting that the thickness of the polycarbonate and structure(removable vs non-removable back plate) has something to do with it as well.

Because the current division in charge of cable subscriptions is the cash king in the room, the head of that division will protect his seat for as long as possible. That person doesn’t care about the company, only about their own seat. They will thwart any effort to create innovative/competing products that undermine their power. This was demonstrated quite clearly with Microsoft Office intentionally crippling their web products to avoid competition with the cash cow, Office. And it also shows the results; Google successfully innovated in the web space and forced Microsoft to jump in late. Unfortunately, since the cash cow has clout, any innovative solution within a company will ultimately fail to internal politics. This is where a strong central CEO needs to take control, but usually they are so far from the actual products that they have no clue.

At that hour, it’s probably network maintenance. But yeah, us nightowls have it tough. At least gaming companies know their customers well enough to do most maintenance in the morning.

I was a bit sad when Microsoft bought out GIANT antispyware, the original creator, and was expecting them to do horrible things with it. They’ve done pretty well though, and it’s kept my computer mostly virus free. It did not catch a key logger once, and created all kinds of havoc for me and my system, but has been fine since then.

Because then you can steal the DS from your crying kids in the back, go through the painful BT pairing process, and then use a STYLUS to type your destination into your handheld device, that will magically be transferred over the air to your touch screen navigation system right in front of you, all while you sip a latte, correct your makeup, and occasionally look at the road while you drive. Think about it, a frickin STYLUS.

Straw-man. Over-simplification of the true argument.
This is the argument they were making, where a single design includes ALL or MOST of the following, not just one or two:
- a rectangular product shape with all four corners uniformly rounded;
- the front surface of the product dominated by a screen surface with black borders;
- as to the iPhone and iPod touch products, substantial black borders above and below the screen having roughly equal width and narrower black borders on either side of the screen having roughly equal width;
- as to the iPad product, substantial black borders on all sides being roughly equal in width;
- a metallic surround framing the perimeter of the top surface;
- a display of a grid of colorful square icons with uniformly rounded corners; and
- a bottom row of square icons (the “Springboard”) set off from the other icons and that do not change as the other pages of the user interface are viewed.

Remember it was a web result based on a grand total of FOUR five-star reviews, hardly what I would consider accurate. I’m pretty sure the results could have been manufactured by the press, all for the sake of promoting the issue.

Also, I think you need to revisit your definition of patent troll. We’ll use Wikipedia’s definition: Patent troll is a term used for a person or company who buys and enforces patents against one or more alleged infringers in a manner considered aggressive or opportunistic with no intention to manufacture or market the patented invention. All the patents that Apple asserted are being used in current or past products. So, no, Apple isn’t the world’s largest patent troll. But this also makes it very likely that you are just a forum troll.

According to the Ars article on this same topic, they mention an email they HAVE proof of, that Samsung didn’t include, as an example. Also, having been caught destroying evidence in several cases, as well as one instance where they physically barred investigators from entering their buildings while employees destroy evidence, doesn’t bode well for ol’ Sammy. Despicable.

Meh, who are we kidding. We all know that without Microsoft licensing fees, this laptop will end up cheaper than a standard same-spec XPS 13, causing deal-hunters to buy it and overwrite the OS with their own copy of Windows. The story of Dell in a nutshell.

Tiny Wings was fun for awhile, but after I reached a wall in difficulty, it quickly became repetitive and not very fun at all. The dev should have included a free-play mode not dictated by the sun, or at least something at night to keep the game play going longer.

That is actually a feature I might find useful. There have been moments when I started writing a text to somebody and then changed my mind and decided to call them instead. This situation is what that line is talking about. While texting somebody, if you put the phone to your ear it will call them automatically. In iOS, I have to close the Message app, open the Phone app, find the contact, and then press to call. But yeah, that line is just so off.

It actually looks a lot like the “supposed” iPhone 5 designs, larger screen but similar overall size, thinner bezels, rectangular home button.
