Yeah but Huawei likely doesn’t have to pay those fees because the Chinese government won’t let foreign companies sue the crap out of Huawei. Also, since Google left China, huawei doesn’t pay for Google apps either, there are many different chinese app stores and Chinese services.

Agreed. Android is also one of the most closed open source projects. And Android is not free with google apps and patent fees. And I like android, but agree; I don’t care if an OS is open or not, I want to see how it performs.
