I mean… it’s Portland so you rarely water your lawn because it rains constantly. Weed killer would probably be more effectively applied in the traditional method. Feel free to drink some though!

You probably have good oral hygiene and brush regularly. You probably also ate something other than soda and garbage fast food when you were a kid. The people who are really affected by this are usually low income children, with poor brushing habits and diets, etc. They get more cavities without fluoride. As I said before, my example is fairly anecdotal based on a bunch of dentists who all agree that the benefits are apparent, but I still take their word over a guy on the internet saying that because he doesn’t have cavities without fluoride, that somehow proves it doesn’t help.

I think that’s from the top comment, which is not mine. Mine remains unedited.

I may have flubbed the sentence there, but I was saying there are more cavities in children in Portland, OR because there is no fluoride in the water. Many of them are low income and the state pays for the dental care to fill the cavities, which ends up costing the taxpayers.

They are in beta for phone ticket purchases for TriMet also. I saw a demo of the app and it surprised me how innovative a little ticket purchasing app could be. http://www.globesherpa.com/beta-in-the-news/

This is somewhat anecdotal, but I lived for years with a bunch of dentists while they were in school, now I know a ton of dentists. They can all tell when a person sits down in the chair if they are from out of state because their teeth are visibly healthier and there are fewer cavities. There is also much higher number of cavities in baby teeth in OR. The benefits are clear from a oral health aspect, wheras the arguments against fluoride are mostly pretty weak or unfounded.
