Both consoles are right at the end of their life – new Xbox and PS next year then the whole thing changes again. They use consoles because PC gaming changes dramatically depending on what standard your hardware is.

I wish this story would just vanish off to financial news/blogs I really couldn’t care less, this is not tech news it’s financial news. Having spent the day wanting to read TechMEME and instead just avoiding the list upon list of share news I really hope this story is just going to leave the tech circuit. As the comments prove no-one outside of finance really understands what any of this crap mean anyway.

Maybe the author is also confused since the XBox 360 and PS3 also use DLNA, Perhaps is Apple had not been greedy and had just joined the Digital Home Working Group like everyone else then we would have a lot less confusion over easy wireless streaming.

Not spoiled – Remember just because you are fine with WIFI does not make you the baseline – copying files of more than 1GB can be problematic across WIFI, especially when you get to 5/10GB. A Gigabit wired network can do this massively faster than even N WIFI usually at half the price, you just have to lay the cables, and most new building have them built in.
Using the net is great over WIFI but actual local networking can be a pain compared to cheap fast cables.

But cheap external USB HDDs are no where near as fast as a SATA3 internal drive, so if you need the space for video you’re editing then you need it fast – obviously a 512GB SSD is faster still but they are still not as reliable or have the life span of a traditional HDD not to mention massively expensive. Working professionally does not mean you have an unlimited budget, quite the opposite in most cases.

WRONG – You are not fully grasping what resolution means 2560X1440 on a 30 inch screen will have different icons sizes to a 14 inch screen running at 2560×1440, which is why the OS needs to be aware of the pixel resolution/area (2560×1440) and the physical space over which the resolution is spread (screen size/dpi)

Nope – you are just to stupid to realise that Apple used the exact same chipsets as other laptops – no Apple magic , try hackintoshing for a while you’ll soon understand how easy and cheap it is to make a PC with the exact same chipset and components as a Mac.

That is not the problem, the problem is Apple deliberately do not release the full power control drivers for Windows, so OS X will always have better battery life on a Mac.

Nope – Nokia went with Microsoft because Microsoft are desperate and were happy to bribe Nokia to come them, Google as plenty of OEMs and does not need to bribe anybody to use Android. Within 3-5 years Microsoft will have completely their stealth takeover and will own Nokia outright.
