It annoys me that long pressing a track doesn’t bring up the options you need to press the three dots on the right, you need to be quite precise and I keep missing it.

Messages isn’t a part of Google Apps once it’s on another device makers phone it isn’t for them to meddle with, Talk was a part of Google apps so it was easy to roll out an update across the board.

Part of the problem is that every OEM has their own custom Messaging app rather than using stock so it wasn’t possible to link it with the Play Store and release an update that would be adopted across the board.

SMS support rolling out to Hangouts whilst there is still an SMS app present is going to be quite an awkward user experience situation especially for those who don’t know anything about it.

I had a bet with myself that whilst Google beat Apple to US Streaming, Apple would beat them worldwide. Hopefully I’ll be proved wrong!

To be fair I recently flashed CM 10.1 on my Nexus 7 after Google ruined it’s performance with 4.2. Nexus devices definitely aren’t perfect.

Just because you can’t assume the support and cooperation of all carriers and OEM’s who have built out their own SMS apps in their skins. The reason they changed Talk instead of Messaging is all Android devices that have Google Apps have Talk, very few have the stock SMS app.
