You do have a point, it has the package feels and some advantages of the leica rangefinders and obviously the price point.
However, if you ask any rangefinder junkie, specially leica users who use it, the will simply not accept the focusing mechanism of the X-pro1. They just will not. Having said that, don’t think those people have troubles affording a leica.

The 1.4/35mm lens is unexpectedly good and is capable of challenging the Leica Summilux-M 1.4/50mm ASPH, the reigning champion of high-speed standard lenses for precision miniature cameras

I think the lens is of a different level than the ones you are referring to

I’m sorry David, but don’t you think the combination of the lens quality and the APS-C sized sensor and it’s quality of the images and ISO performance justifies the price?

This review has been the one I’ve personally looking forward too. Thank you for such a comprehensible review David.
The reviews have made me a fan of the quality of this camera, and judging by the firmware updates of the X100, I think this will continue to get better. I don’t understand why people are comparing about the price of the body though. It has an APS-C sensor, not a micro one-third, that would be a huge advantage when using lenses wide open. The caveat is the focussing. I have no no no idea why Fuji stuck with fly by wire and did not include a mechanical focussing. Having said that, let’s see how good it gets with firmware updates. This is perhaps the most high I have felt about purchasing a camera.
Btw, how loud is the shutter sound? I intend to use it on the streets. The cloth shutter of the X100 is assassin-silent. Second question, how unobtrusive is it? People are not too happy when you point a massive DSLR at them.

same here….they could have made it better, much much better…mass effect 2 is best of the lot and many others…hope the assassin’s creed franchise doesn’t go down the same drain

Ahh. Thank you. You managed to shed some light. I was wondering why microsoft is being reprimanded for IE and not apple for safari.

You know how Flipboard was exclusive only to the Galaxy S III? Sure, you can stand in line and wait for the official launch for the Android app, but since we are all buddies here…
It’s simple, I just had a Galaxy S III lying around and I extracted the .apk using AirDroid. So, there you go.
This is what the original post said in the xda-developers forum

yaa, agreed, but the london marathon isn’t your everyday turn is it? But ya, either way she wins. I’m just saying it would have been a noble gesture.

Respect.
Why can’t the London marathon organizers make an exception and give her a medal. It clearly is a case of unbelievable strength of character and deserves an honorary mention.

Should have included a context when I was asking those questions. Only and Only if you are a spokesperson are you not allowed to have opinions. I don’t know what you do, but most jobs and I should say almost all jobs require you to have your opinion and share them. Ideas btw, are bare-bone opinions.
Secondly, do you want people to have opinions that mirror yours? Why can’t you respect their opinions? They are not forcing your. If I am not mistaken Joshua Topolsky loves the industrial design of the Lumia.
Having said these I realize my folly, you’re probably not the reasonable type.

Got two questions for you
1) What do you do for a living?
2) Do you know the concept of leaving your professional commitments and personal choices separate?
