I could not disagree more. This may have been true previously but not anymore. Since Google published the design guidelines and with the success of the Nexus 7, android apps have improved dramatically. Look at the android design website as a good example. iOS apps, once the benchmark look dated in comparison to a proper android app following the holo guidelines. A great example of this would be LinkedIn and their new holo update. Looks way more modern than its iOS counterpart. Another good example is slacker radio

I know the plugin is there but I think it is for advanced features. I remember when hangouts came out, they kept talking about how you don’t need a plugin. I could be wrong on this but I don’t remember adding one. Maybe they just built it into chrome
