I don’t like the swipe up and down, doesn’t feel natural. I’ve always loved the app on iPad though, so I’m sure I’ll enjoy it on here.

The number one reason I’m leaving Sprint is because of the terrible customer service. Just because I pay less than Verizon or AT&T doesn’t mean I’m less capable of affording a better carrier. I’m not sure if Sprint thinks that, or if they think that everyone with their service has it because they can’t afford something better. There was a time I was impressed with their customer service and happy to recommend them to anyone.
The way they’ve acted and responded toward me over the supposed 300mb roaming data limit, despite the fact that the WEBSITE SAYS UNLIMITED NEXT TO ROAMING, is absolutely hilarious. They’re obviously not interested in retaining long-time customers, and for that reason I’ll pay another carrier double the price if it helps sink Sprint.

Haven’t used the Spotify app on a Mac, but I’ve used it on a PC. Honestly, they’re all quite similar. I like the look of Rdio’s app a lot on a Mac (never used it on a PC). It looks a good bit like iTunes.

Windows market share is dropping. LG’s comments about Windows Phone are a tale-tell sign of Microsoft’s phone ecosystem failing. The entire shift to Windows 8 ties into the use of the phone and tablet, and tying all of these ecosystems together. There’s not much to tie into when it comes to the phone.
Metro should be optional. It should be the default on tablets with the option to revert to a full desktop mode, and the default on a desktop should be the traditional desktop with the option to go to Metro. It’s really simple.
My opinion is not from a pro-Apple mindset. I own a tablet and an iMac. I also own an i7 Windows laptop. For me, the iPad replaced the laptop. I use my iMac for any content creation that I need to do. I don’t need multiple devices. I use then differently. From an enterprise standpoint, and systems admin standpoint, I don’t want a tablet to do all of my work.

I’m referring to K-12. We split ours up K-5, 6-12. 6-12 has a 1:1 initiative, where they do spend a lot of time with the device. I’m sure they can learn it, and it’s not so much the students that I’m concerned with, as younger generations have shown an incredible ability to adapt to technology.
My concern is more with the teachers who are already stressed to the max with job cuts, the forever changing technology that’s forced upon them, and the state mandated tests that they’re forced to perform to. They’ve already stretched thin, throwing this wrinkle in is quite a bit for them to undertake. I don’t necessarily think home use will be terrible… it’s still a lot to get used to, but I think in the business world it will cause a lot of productivity.

I know the world isn’t going to end. Imagine a school system with 40,000 students and 5,000 employees. Do you really think enterprises should have to take the time to re-teach very basic computer skills to their users?
Do you know how difficult going from the standard Office 2003 style to Office 2007 with the Ribbon was for some of these people, and now you’re changing the entire OS to look more like a mobile OS on a desktop. It’s a stupid idea.

And I agree, they’re expensive. I paid $1,100 for my Samsung i7 laptop that, spec-wise, destroyed anything at the time. You can’t beat that price. But you also can barely find a monitor with a resolution the same as my 27" iMac. For content creation and the things I do with it, there’s nothing close.
