The do charge as much as Apple does (30%) BUT developers can freely choose to use another payment system (like PayPal) and still distribute their Android apps for free on Google Play.

I’m pretty sure that’s not a joke.
By serving targeted ads to people, they should not think of them as punishments
The random ads on TVs… are punishments!

The question is: does Sony Xperia owners cares about OS updates?
I think Xperia users like the Sony brand and trust Sony for the quality of the camera.
We care about OS updates and we buy [Samsung] Nexus devices, not Sony.

At least, the Avengers movie wasn’t financed by foreign money… or was it?
It felt the same way for us when Microsoft “bought” the finish company Nokia.

Windows Mobile was running on a 200 MHz CPU with almost no RAM.

OK. I think it’s time to remind everyone why Google is doing Android.
Google makes money from ads on the web (and the mobile web).
Google thought the iPhone wasn’t going enough mobile web users so they build their mobile OS and asked manufacturer (HTC…) to make the devices.
Whatever Amazon (or Samsung) choose to do, people are buying Android phone and want access to Android apps and Google services.
The only reason why the Kindle Fire was successful in the US (only!) was the price and the number of competitor at this price range.
People love Google more than they love Samsung.

They are ways for developer to have the same app works well on both 2.3 and 4.0 devices.
The truth is, a lot of devs are too lazy to do the upgrade since the 2.3 UI is not that bad (yes, that includes me).

My Android app runs on more than 1303 different devices without too much trouble.
I cannot say the same thing about the my web apps that I’m having a hard time making it works on all major web browsers (yes, including IE6!)
