The Galaxy S III and Macbook Air use completely different CPU architectures, so comparing clock speed and core count is irrelevant. For more info, google x86 and ARM.

I agree. Holo is nice, but so is color. You can still adhere to the ICS design guidelines but add your own flavor to it, as is evidenced by Evernote’s and Spotify’s recent redesigns. Maybe Carbon will bring a more distinct look.

I don’t understand the rationale behind this device. For $50 more on AT&T, you could get the flagship WP7, and for the same price unlocked, you could get the flagship Android device.

I think Apple will include a ton more gestures in iOS 6 in order to get people used to them. But they’ll continue to keep the home button in the iPhone 5, but maybe in the next couple iterations they’ll get rid of it. I think the future is buttonless and gestures will become the new norm. WebOS brought it to the table and the designers at Nokia working on Meego refined it, and I believe the the next generation of high-end devices will adopt this principle. Microsoft has already shown an inclination towards gestures in W8, and most of Google’s design philosophy behind ICS revolves around the addition of convenient, useful gestures. I think Apple will do the same, except probably more elegantly than both MS and Google.

The Nexus needs to be stock, they can slap their skins on all their other devices.

The three screens for multitasking, app tray, and notifications is a ripoff of Meego. And the whole swipe UI was implemented in Meego.

This is a dark horse candidate for phone of the year. AT&T One X plus bigger battery and microSD card slot. Although the design isn’t as good IMO.

You’re right on all three points, which is why I think Apple will keep the home button for the next iPhone. However, I expect them to include gestures into the OS so that consumers can start to get used to them, as they have on the iPad. Then in the next generation of iDevices, they’ll get rid of the button entirely.

I think that in the next two years Apple’s going to do away with the home button and have their devices be all scren. Most of the functions of the home button can be replicated with gestures, so I think Apple will integrate that into iOS.
