You do realize gnosticism was rejected as heresy in the first century by the early church leaders, not just by people 2000 years later, right? That there is no Christ (Greek for annointed one) without Judaism promising the messiah (Hebrew for annointed one)? That your religious life theoretically doesn’t exist in a vacuum?
Enlightenment folks crack me up. Not because religion per se isn’t intensely personal, but because they seem to think they can undermine 3500 years of Judeo-Christian thought with their fantastically new age realizations of ongoing enlightenment. Well done.
