I don’t even know what to say after that.

For everyone bitching about it not having dual analogs: the iOS MFi program supports dual analog, dual triggers, basically the entire button scheme of a PS or Xbox controller. Just because the prototype made for developers at WWDC doesn’t have them, doesn’t mean it won’t exist.

Why is everyone freaking out about a prototype controller that was made specifically for developers by Logitech for WWDC?

Physical controls will be available on iOS soon. One of the announcements at WWDC was standardized physical game controllers.

Also was an engineering student. I don’t see how or why people think Google Docs is a good replacement to Office or iWork. Making something look nice in Google Docs is impossible. It just doesn’t have enough formatting options to actually make something that doesn’t look like it was done in 5 minutes on a simple notepad. I wouldn’t even waste time trying to write a lab report on Google Docs.

You pay for your email client whereas mine came with the OS. I think you are making your point even worse than you think.

You will pay the same amount for Office 365 annually ($60) as I have paid for iWork in total (also $60). I have had iWork on my Mac since it came out and iWork on iOS since they came out. You will pay the same amount every year as I have paid in total and I have had iWork much longer than you have had Office 365. I don’t think you have much of a point here.

What’s the difference? I don’t have to subscribe to use iWork. That’s the difference. I paid once a few years ago and haven’t had to pay for an update since.

This looks atrocious compared to iWork for iOS. And it requires an Office 365 account? No thank you.

I highly doubt that Glass will be a huge success in the mainstream market. It will be worn by dorks for a few years and then slide into obscurity just like bluetooth headsets and Segways.

I agree with this article. But what might not be known by a lot of the people in this thread is that they have not ignored their cloud services. They may not have announced anything new (outside of iCloud Keychain), but they have been trying to improve what they already have. During the “Platform State of the Union” address at WWDC, it was said that Apple purposely did not add any major new iCloud products because they “need to fix what they already have” (i.e. Core Data on iCloud for developers). This is indeed an area they needed to make improvements in and has been one of the major issue for developers trying to integrate with iCloud. I do agree that a company of Apple’s stature should and likely could have done both (add new iCloud services AND improve issue with what is in place already) but it isn’t an area that they have ignored entirely. They are just moving slower than a lot of people had hoped (myself included).

Obviously Jony Ive knew nothing about this program. That slide is far too hideous for a man like him to let it see the light of day.
