I see 2 major advantages:

1. Android cost less even after the Google Apps+Store+Patent fees.
2. Full Customization including UI, Homescreen, Add Custom Services etc.

OEMs see a better future in Android compared to Windows.

KLP can help Android fix the large screen issue with Chrome integration. I am surprised why OEMs are more bullish about Android Notebooks rather than WinRT which offer a much better experience. I think it could be more with the pricing..

I think KLP will include some Chrome elements for desktop use and this could be the reason for its delay. Considering the support OEMs are putting in Android Laptops there is certainly something baking with KLP.
