This is not the final version of the desktop UI. As the article mentions, this is only a hint at the changes they are making. I would be willing to bet that the final version has a solid task bar at the bottom (maybe white) and all all new metro inspired icons.

This is very interested but can only succeed if you can get major games on board. It fails if i cant play the latest games such as Diablo 3 or Battlefield 3

I run windows 8 with a HD 4850 just fine. you should be able to pull the driver from windows update. whatever driver you have installed, uninstall it and let windows update try to find it.

7850 is probably the way to go. I bought a 4850 ages ago and its still getting the job done today :).

its quite simple all the things you listed are purely specs. you talk about the cpu, gpu, battery, etc. What really matters to most people is design and user experience which most consider the HTC One X better in that respect.

This looks faster and more fluid than the actual music player on windows 8. Microsoft better get its act together with that app. Right now its terrible.
