If google is just going to go on a yearly hardware/software cycle, whats the advantage of having my nexus 4? Cripes, even samsung, HTC, et al. can keep up with that speed of software updates, no?

i don’t care one iota about hacking/flashing, as you put it. I would love an amazing camera, and excellent battery life. i also prefer stock android, as i feel it runs the smoothest, with the least hindrances. Unfortunately, before this week, that device really didn’t exist. I love my Nexus 4, except for the horrendous battery life, and the mediocre camera. Will i drop 650$ on the Nexus S4? Probably not. Its all about some sacrifice in the smartphone world, unfortunately. I’m about at the end of my rope with the nexus 4 battery life, and very close to using my upgrade on an HTC One or GS4, non nexus….

why they put that ‘hump’ on the back of the 925 is beyond me….just make it that thick, in exchange for a bigger battery and/or wireless charging built in. Doesn’t it defeat the convenience of wireless charging if i have to put a sleeve on it to do so? And no, i don’t particularly like putting cases on my nicely designed phones.

We may not be completely doomed, but we are in for Very very rough future. Even if we somehow stopped emissions dead now, they would continue to rise for many years. I truly believe I may be the last generation to live in a relative state of comfort, and I really worry about my future kids and their families….

If I’m not mistaken, the current consoles are pushing ten years. And my current PC is pushing 6 years already, with most games on medium high, consistently looking better than their console version. Plus I just can’t play shooters with a controller….

If it’s too much, I’m more than happy to drop 800-1000$ on an X51 desktop, and future proud myself a little better, IMO. ams yes I’m aware that that price point is likely higher than the next gen consoles.

i’ve been tempted this week, with all the new hotness in the android world, but stock is just so good. The battery on my nexus 4 leaves something to be desired, but the lack of LTE is a non issue for me in Canada. Plus i’m totally contract free, and i enjoy that feeling immensely. Played with a One today, its very nice hardware wise, but i can’t imagine how awesome it would be with bone stock. That is a device i would pay 5-600$ for. And i’m not interested in rooting etc., so don’t start!

Desperately want this car to succeed, I’m actually seeing more than a couple in my city now, which is exciting. I’d say not having a charging option at home is more of an issue for me than cost.

i’m afraid that gmail, maps and chrome are far far from better on ios. i find google maps to be an exercise in frustration in general on ios. Not being able to swipe to archive on ios for gmail is infuriating, and chrome is a dumpster fire….. but good luck with your move.
