As a religious engineer, I’ve got to disagree with you. Spirituality is something that (at least for me) comes from asking questions that are fundamentally impossible to answer with deductive logic. The universe is indeed a beautifully complex place, but that doesn’t mean that understanding the universe will give any insight into things beyond it.
That being said, this was a very interesting read. I never really gave any thought to the people behind the explosive start-ups and copyright litigation.
Actually, it has been show that traditional encyclopedias are just as liable to include false information as crowd-sourced encyclopedias. The only difference is that Wikipedia is full of little bits of misinformation that very few people know or care enough about to correct in a lot of articles, while Britannica includes vital information that is simply false, because the few fact checkers that go over it before publishing either miss it or buy into a bad source in it’s entirety.
