Then Nintendo would transform into another SEGA, and looking at how they performed last decade, I don’t think is a good idea.
The whole point of Nintendo is to play their first party games, so you have to buy their consoles to do that. It’s their business model. The problem with the Wii U is the lack of interesting titles. The 3DS resolved this pretty well, i.e. I wouldn’t mind to buy a unit just to play Pokémon X/Y and the new Zelda.
