Kind of. But its nice to fall back to SMS if at all possible. Its a ‘if you can avoid SMS, dont’ use it, but I’m sending a message because I want the other person to receive it, so if they can’t be reached via G+, then please send the message via SMS’

MMS does not require a data connection and includes photos, sounds and video. The point is, we’d like it to be able to FALL BACK to SMS/MMS if said person is not active on G+, GTalk, or Hangouts, just like iMessage does. I dont want 3 messaging apps on my phone (FBMessenger, Hangouts, SMS/MMS). I want 1 that does all 3. I have work contacts in my phone that I need to message with. I receive alerts from devices via SMS. I have friends I ONLY talk to via FB Messenger. Why can I not have Hangouts talk to FB via XMPP like pidgin or Adium, be native hangouts, and fall back to SMS if the person is not active on on either and there is a phone number in my contacts for them? Apple was able to do it, minus the FB messenger part, but since GTalk is already natively XMPP, it shouldn’t be much trouble for Google.

See above. Its not just a personal chat. Its a SHOW filmed/recorded in a studio for recording. Its meant for mass consumption.

But this isn’t a chat in real life. This is a produced ‘show’ that is meant for mass consumption. Why else would you build a full fledged studio for it?

I’m not sure what EPIC is, but I’ve used the Citrix Receiver on my Nexus 7. It actually performed MUCH better than I thought it would. I can actually do most of my production work from my N7, so long as I have a keyboard with me to plug in to it.

You have to be careful saying you work on Open Source stuff. Some larger companies could be scared that you’d take code from their app and use it in said Open Source project.

All jobs state they require degrees nowadays. Thats not the case. I don’t have one, but I’ve been doing engineering (not development, obv) since I was 17 and am now 31. I have NEVER had a problem getting a job because I don’t have a degree. You just need to know your shit, and be able to articulate that you know your shit.

You can tack on $20-25 and that should be enough profit, seriously. Thats a 10% profit margin. If its $169, they couldn’t have spent an extra $15 on a nicer screen and $10 on a better CPU and still made THE SAME MARGIN they’re making now, but actually make a compelling product?

So 2 weeks before the replacement of the Nexus 7 is rumored to be announced, Acer, Lenovo, HP, et al have finally caught up to it in terms of specs and price… just to be (rumored of course) blown out of the water again in terms of specs and price (S4Pro + $150-199).
Why has it been so hard for other companies to match Google in the 7" tablet segment?

I have very small ears. No matter what earbuds I try to use, within 10 minutes my ears are bright red, hot, and hurt terribly. However, I bought Klipsch Image Ones. They’re ‘on ear’ but totally cover my tiny ears, sound good, and the mic and buttons work with my Galaxy Nexus.

It just seems so very arbitrary to make a stock app to me. If I want to follow stocks, theres LOTS of apps to do that. Heck, GoogleNow will give you a stocks card. Thats where I monitor mine.

I don’t. They still don’t have the Now widget on their home screen like I do, and never will. I also don’t think Apple has really opened up the widget API for the notification shade yet either, but we know its possible because of their stocks app… seriously, who uses that?

I’ve never seen a Nexus 10 at the Best Buys (4 different stores) around me. Is this regional? They aren’t listed on the Best Buy website either.
