The Android market has always been a specs war; I’m not sure why, given that the OS is the most customisable. Whereas the iPhone is about the experience, and of course, Apple’s strongest suit is the apps/music/etc. So it doesn’t mean that Nokia (or MS) needs to go all out in the specs, but it definitely needs to strengthen their apps count to offset it.
Either way, I hate it when people and tech bloggers just harp on about the 1080p screen resolution or quad core processor when the iPhone 5 has neither. As suggested, it’s the apps that’s letting the phone and WP down.
Anyone ever wondered why there’s never a comment or article of Windows 8 selling more licenses than OSX in matters of months, whereas there’s always a comparison of sales numbers between WP8 with Android and iOS?
You’ll actually find that MS has always influenced design, mainly with icons, but I guess the tiles are their new “icons”. Have a search for WinXP or Vista icons, and you’ll find libraries of them.
